XOOOOX is a Berlin based Street Artist, whose name was chosen for its symmetry.
He started out expressing himself through graffiti but drawing on his observations of the fashion industry began pasting pictures cut from magazines around the streets. Realising that stencils were quicker and easier to apply he adopted the Street Art technique but continued to explore the themes of beauty and superficiality and their association with fashion. His stencils are tagged with a combination of X’s and O’s.
His (predominantly) female (often life-size) figures are evocative of the style of an acknowledged influence, Blek le Rat.
If you’d like to see more work from XOOOOX, you can check out his website and Facebook page and an excellent book of his work published by Gestalten.
Great images – thanks for posting
I was riding down the street yesterday and spotted one of his pieces – thanks to you, I was a bit more educated 🙂
Wonder if we’ll see him in the East End at some point
